WV Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (WV MIG)

Overview

The West Virginia Medicaid Infrastructure Grant (WVMIG), is a joint venture of the West Virginia University Center for Excellence in Disabilities (CED), West Virginia Division of Rehabilitation Services (WVDRS), and Bureau for Medical Services (BMS). Our mission is to remove barriers to employment and improve services for people with disabilities. We support the competitive employment of people with disabilities who want to work. We offer technical assistance to partners by increasing the knowledge level about work incentives programs among community providers and transition coordinators, and providing support for the delivery of direct service through the WIPA program. We provide training, direction and support to create more effective Supported Employment services. We provide training and guidance in the development of Employment Networks. We expand access to WV Medicaid Buy-In program (M-WIN). We use data to influence policy and improve Personal Care Services.

We are also participating in a national marketing campaign, Think Beyond The Label SM , that is committed to making the business case for employing people with disabilities. The national campaign is a partnership of health and human service and employment agencies with federal grants, coming together to build a uniform national infrastructure and approach that connects businesses to qualified candidates with disabilities. The goal is simple: to raise awareness that hiring people with disabilities makes good business sense.
